Combat Alpha is ready for your tests
Wardens and Voidborn can prepare their own active character for combat testing. The current release brings together the Combat Alpha setup controls, world PvP and Spar, the ordinary technique expansion from v0.2.6, and the signature guide and clearer commitment restrictions from v0.2.7. These controls change your real pre-alpha character; test progress may be reset before launch.
1. Prepare your character
Wake up, recover if you are downed, and finish or cancel any active training. Return to your faction's headquarters and open Combat. In Combat Alpha, press MAX TEST BUILD to prepare the max combat baseline, refill resources, equip canonical test gear, grant eligible techniques, and bring them to their test caps.
2. Choose a signature and your techniques
Read the signature guide to compare Soulbrands and Masks, their techniques, costs, cooldowns, release requirements, and effects. Choose a signature for your faction in Combat Alpha and press APPLY + EQUIP KIT. If the full kit does not fit, free supporting technique slots or use APPLY and equip moves yourself.
Open Techniques to choose your ordinary attacks and support moves alongside the signature kit. The v0.2.6 expansion adds 11 ordinary techniques for each supported faction. Trainable ordinary techniques cap at level 10, first-release techniques at level 12, and final-release techniques at level 15. The standard eight technique slots are enough to test; no Supporter purchase is needed.
3. Fight another tester
For a Spar, use GO TO SPAR in Combat, search for another player's name, and send a challenge. Your opponent can accept from Duels within five minutes. Both players must be awake and ready to fight.
For world PvP, coordinate with an opposing-faction player on a different account, travel to the same region and map tile, and open Scout. Both characters must be Rank 3 or higher, and their rank tiers must differ by no more than one. Choose an eligible opponent and attack. Readiness and recovery protection still apply. Stay active and submit your action each round so timeout turns do not distort your comparison.
Try different attacks, guards, healing, marks, damage over time, and releases. When a commitment blocks a technique, that move now shows Committed and cannot be selected while the restriction lasts. Its description remains available.
4. Refill, change, and repeat
Finish the encounter before changing your build. Recover if needed, return to headquarters, and use RESET & REFILL to restore the combat baseline and resources while keeping your selected signature and loadout. Choose another signature or adjust your ordinary techniques, then test again.
Tell us what happened
After a PvP fight, open Battle History, choose View report, then Open full battle log and Report this encounter. Report promptly while the full-log link is available; detailed logs expire after three hours. Select Unexpected battle state for a combat bug or Other for balance feedback.
In the note, include your faction and signature, the important equipped techniques and levels, the round, what you expected, and what actually happened. For balance feedback, describe both builds, the matchup and how often you tried it; mention any timeout turns. The note accepts up to 1,000 characters and is attached to the encounter for staff review. One report can be submitted per player per encounter; reports do not change results or rewards.
The Give feedback button in Combat Alpha also offers an optional experience rating when a survey is available and you have allowed optional telemetry. Gameplay does not require that consent.
We are testing combat behavior and gathering balance evidence. Competitive balance is still being evaluated, so tell us which choices feel useful, weak, too strong, or unclear.
